Bring learning to life through art, nature and hands-on making.
Our Schools Programme gives pupils the chance to explore contemporary art, discover the landscape and experiment with creative processes alongside our artist educators.
We provide free, high-quality funded visits for those least likely to access art opportunities at home or whose schools can least afford them.

Teacher-led visits are free for all schools and colleges. Self-guided visits include a printed guide to encourage observation and discussion of artworks in the landscape, allowing teachers to explore the exhibition with their students at their own pace. Click for more information.

For schools eligible for a funded visit, our artist-led interactive tour is paired with a practical workshop. Pupils explore the artworks before heading to the Learning Hub for hands-on making, with activities designed to encourage close looking, discussion and creative exploration. Teacher-led visits can choose to book practical workshops for an additional fee. Click for more information.

From September 2026, we are offering three free continuing professional development (CPD) sessions for local teachers, providing an opportunity to experience the three creative workshops currently available to schools. Click for more information.

Tailored for: KS3 | KS4 | KS5
Duration: 75 minutes
Explore scale, form, texture and shape through both 3D and 2D responses to a collaboratively built sculpture.
The workshop begins with a group sculpture-making activity inspired by the current art exhibition. Pupils then engage in experimental sketching exercises focused on light, shadow, negative space, texture and tone, encouraging critical thinking and creative confidence.
Tailored for: KS3 | KS4 | KS5
Duration: 75 minutes
This printmaking workshop investigates contrast, perspective and the relationship between positive and negative space.
Inspired by natural forms and materials, students create their own printing plates and experiment with processes such as rubbings, debossing and various printing techniques.
Tailored for: SEND schools
Duration: 2 hours
Inspired by the natural world and artworks encountered in the landscape, pupils explore texture, shape and pattern by creating a clay pinch pot and using natural materials to add texture and detail, before transforming their design into a unique plaster cast.
A teacher worksheet is provided to support further exploration and extend learning back at school.
Tailored for: KS2
Duration: 4 hours
Designed to develop observation and creative thinking through a playful, sensory approach, this workshop uses Art Explorer Boxes filled with prompts, props and tactile objects developed with artists Leap Then Look.
Artist Educators guide pupils through close looking and conversation in the landscape, before using the Sculpt Box for large-scale collaborative making in the Learning Hub. Each pupil receives an Art Explorer Pack with a sketchbook and materials to continue their creative exploration back at school or home.
Thanks to generous funding, eligible schools can access our Tours and Workshops free of charge. We are also pleased to offer a travel grant of up to £500 per school.
