EXHIBITION PRESENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ROLLS-ROYCE MOTOR CARS
Extending from the gallery to the surrounding landscape, Rachel Whiteread’s summer 2025 headline exhibition was the first major presentation to bring together a range of sculptures alongside her recent photographic work. Together, they invited reflection on the relationship between nature and form, and on the narratives and memories embedded within the objects and structures that shape our surroundings.

Inside The Gallery, Doppelgänger (2020-2021) and Bergamo III (2023), two major sculptures by Whiteread, revealed the recent evolution of her sculptural language, while a lesser-known, rarely seen, but important aspect of the artist’s practice was brought to light in a poignant series of photographic works.

Cast sculptures from different periods of Whiteread’s career, including Pair (1999) and Detached II (2012), as well as a major new work, can be found across our landscape. As it transitions through 24 seasonal moments, vistas and views of these works will morph and evolve.

The opportunity to experience contemporary art integrated into a carefully designed natural landscape is something I particularly respond to. If you've got nature and art together, it’s a winning combination.

"We are delighted to support the Goodwood Art Foundation, an exciting new artistic hub dedicated, as we are, to showcasing the best of the best, and located almost on the doorstep of the Home of Rolls-Royce."
