Jack will share insights into leading landscape designer Dan Pearson’s original vision, shaped around the concept of ‘24 seasonal moments’. This intuitive design creates 24 fleeting yet spectacular points throughout the year, when a particular plant or tree reaches its crescendo - drawing the eye and shaping the atmosphere of the landscape.
From ancient woodland to wildflower meadows, visitors can explore a rich variety of habitats, discovering moments of solace, reflection and surprise along the way. The landscape evolves with the seasons, reflecting the distinct character of the South Downs and providing a unique setting in which to experience both art and nature.
In late March, highlights include cherry trees laden with blossom and carpets of spring bulbs unfurling through the woodland - vibrant expressions of the careful planting that ensures colour, texture and sensory richness unfold continuously throughout the year.
Designed in tandem with the art programme, the landscape encourages visitors to consider the connections between art, creativity and the natural world - revealing how each enhances and deepens the experience of the other.
